Picking up after the premier of season seven.
It starts in the van. After he’d been thrown in the back, scrambling like a caged animal he settled down. Barely moved after Dwight started driving away. Just barely discernible above the rumble of the vehicle, Dwight hears it.
“M’sorry Beth. I’ll try harder.”
A one shot stand alone intended to be part of a series of stories. Starts from Daryl’s point of view while he kneels before Negan and advances to include his imprisonment and escape. This is a Bethyl story and contains mature language and violence.
“I love you Beth.” A confession he had ran from for almost a month now, ever since they escaped the prison attack and lost track of everyone else in the group. She was all he had left in the crazy apocalyptic world and he was all she had now.
Daryl and Beth flee the scene after watching Negan torture the group. For Beth, escaping means freedom. But for Daryl, it means he chose her over everyone else he loves.Did he make a mistake? Can he learn to cope with his decision? And can Beth regain the sense of humanity that was taken from her? This is where the story begins…
