He had never seen anybody cry over coffee before. If he had, he would have laughed at them. It’s just coffee. What’s the big deal? But, he isn’t laughing and it wasn’t just anybody. It was her. It was Beth. And, she used to love coffee and she had missed it so bad. And, now she had some. And, this was a big deal.
A late-night talk around the fire leaves Beth confessing a deep secret to Daryl, and he promises he will do everything he can to help her. In the midst of this revelation, he starts to understand his true feelings for Beth.
Daryl’s been around enough drunks to know which one people will likely be and he’s hardly ever been wrong.
Before that bottle of moonshine that had burned even his tongue he had never seen Beth Greene completely wasted.
And it was, honestly, the best thing he’s ever seen.
Beth Greene has a singular talent for goading Daryl into all kinds of reckless shit, and he’s not even mad about it.
He listened, listened to the woman try and lay claim to the kid, so much like the Claimers that he had been forced to join forces with, until he found Rick, Michonne and Carl. Hatred filled him; his blood ran cold. Daryl reached out as Noah started to step towards the cop, and laid his hand firmly on Noah’s chest, pushing him back slightly. Daryl stepped forward, barely containing the growl behind his words. “No, he ain’t staying,” Daryl moved to flank Rick on his left side.
Beth and Daryl have escaped the funeral home together and are attempting to navigate these new feelings they are hopeless to deny.

He saw her the very minute she arrived in Heavenly. He watched, trying his best to go unnoticed, while taking in every detail about the way the woman looked as the driver helped her down from the coach. She was small, slight of build, young. Her skin was fair and her hair was golden and she was a real special kind of pretty.
