Numb, that was all he was-all he could be-there, at the crossroads. He had a choice, he knew that much. He could remain numbed to the pain, return to the safety of lack of caring and remorse. Or…he could pick himself up, brush off his pins and needles, and start looking for her. He knew what she’d want, if she were here, by his side. That alone meant he had no option.
Daryl has taken up with Joe’s group on their way to Terminus, but his heart is telling him to turn back and look for Beth. Will Joe and the group help? Will they ever find Beth? Will she still be the same Beth before they were separated?
When she saw him outside the prison gates in exactly the right place at exactly the right time, she was still pissed at him for leaving. How will she deal with the new and unfamiliar feelings she has as a result of his return?
Beth knew from simple observation that Daryl hated physical contact, so it just seemed obvious that he didn’t like any sort of romantic contact either.
This is a one shot in which Daryl is the one to receive Negan’s bat. But before he dies, he sees Beth. Yes, it’s sad.
