Daryl breaks Beth’s heart, and she leaves town to pursue her dream of becoming a famous singer. When two years pass, and her family needs her, Beth returns to the farm, knowing that she had never stopped loving him. Even after what he’d done.

“We bury the ones we love and burn the rest.”
Filling in the gaps between episodes 5×08 and 5×09, this is my ode to Beth Greene. We may never know what happened to her body, and we may never know why she was the only character to not have an on-screen funeral, but that’s what fic is for.

One-shot Bethyl-smut inspired from an interview with Norman Reedus I read where he described his character, Daryl Dixon, as having “no game with women”. “I’d rather be the guy who is completely awkward and has no game. I’d rather prematurely ejaculate and cry in the corner than ‘Yeah! Nailed her!,” Reedus said. Yeah…that’s the inspiration. Enjoy!

It was like the sun breaking through the clouds after the darkest day had passed. She was broken, like him, but she was able to hide it, to disguise it and to push it down but he saw it, maybe that was why he couldn’t help himself. Maybe he just wanted a distraction from the own pain he had, maybe he wanted to be her distraction, maybe he just wanted her.

Beth has always been bad about returning things. So when Rick calls and asks if he can get his jumper cables back she feels horrible that she kept them so long and rushes right over to return them. She’s introduced to Daryl, Rick’s friend who just came back to town and is staying in the spare room. Beth is finding a whole bunch of things she borrowed and needs to return!
