It’s Beth’s first birthday since her suicide attempt, and Maggie thinks she deserves something special. Spending her 18th birthday at the Dixon Lounge isn’t exactly what Beth thought she had in mind; neither, of course, is being singled out for a private dance from the owner’s little brother.
If he could go back, if he could be in that moment again. It shocked him what he would give up to be there and have her close.
He’s trying things now. Different things, new things. Asking if he can. Asking if he can’t. And he’s growing in confidence too. Everyday. At first it’s small changes. Confident kisses. A hand on her thigh, her ass. And then later those little things lead to bigger ones.
There’s no dog. No cars. No one returned to lay claim to the place. Nothing to keep them from stickin’ around, so they do. And it’s hard, sometimes, to look around this new home without thinking about the past.
Together for half a year after the prison fell, Beth and Daryl finally find their way to the ASZ. The reunion is joyful, but the adjustment is difficult in ways they could never have predicted. And maybe it doesn’t need to be. Maybe they need to stop closing doors and open some new ones.
They don’t plan it. It’s not something they mean to do. But starting the night Beth comes to the ASZ, she’s going to bed with Daryl Dixon, and she’s never slept as well as she does when she sleeps with him.
Beth (an up and coming singer-song writer) has been flirting with Daryl (a music blogger) ever since they first met a few weeks ago. When Daryl gets naughty and teases her a little one night, Beth gets her revenge by writing and performing a frisky little song.
