The apocalypse hasn’t really played out the way the preacher used to say it would.

“He had missed this most of all; feeling safe with her. He’s rarely ever felt truly safe anywhere his entire life. He was on the brink of actual sleep when he heard her. “I’m not gonna leave you.” And it all came rushing back that she was dead.” Daryl is Negan’s prisoner, but he’s not alone in that room.

…his voice sounded harsh even to him, “Yeah Hun, coffee, black. Thanks.”
He was caught by surprise when no sooner were the words out of his mouth than a small pale hand covered his. He immediately looked up and into the face of a sweet and sexy looking blue-eyed blonde. She smiled when she said, “Don’t call me Honey, okay? Please. I’m Beth.”

Out on the road, constantly moving from place to place, things look pretty bleak for the family as every day the weather gets worse and Lori’s belly grows bigger. With dark clouds gathering overhead, they find shelter from the storm just in time. But as tough as things are right now, Beth knows that every cloud has a silver lining.

He had never seen anybody cry over coffee before. If he had, he would have laughed at them. It’s just coffee. What’s the big deal? But, he isn’t laughing and it wasn’t just anybody. It was her. It was Beth. And, she used to love coffee and she had missed it so bad. And, now she had some. And, this was a big deal.
